Welcoming a baby!

Last year, in April 2019 I was lucky enough to marry my husband, Adam! Fast forward a few months and we found out we were expecting. I remember feeling kind of “off,” I was having cramps but not my normal cramps. I also remember it was a coworkers birthday and we were celebrating with savory croissants and I couldn’t wait to have one and then once I grabbed mine, it sounded disgusting to me and smelled gross. I ate it anyways, because I am committed and it was fine but that REALLY stood out to me as an unusual thing (because I love food).

Fast forward to the next day, Adam and I are getting ready for a flight out to Portland to visit a girlfriend and her husband, and to head to a wedding at a BEAUTIFUL winery. Adam took our dog Mac out for a quick walk an while he was out, I decided to take a quick test. I immediately saw two littttle lines and then took about 10 more tests. We were both shocked, excited, nervous and needing to get to the airport for our flight.

The weekend was weird, I had JUST found out I was pregnant and had all of these big plans to eat and drink my way through Portland with Adam and my friend. My plan was to try and “fake” drink, but I immediately caved and told my friend I was pregnant at brunch, she knew before my family, Adams family, friends and my doctor. Then I watched them drink their way through Portland and I spent some time googling what I can and cannot do.

Adam, Mac and I

This was an exciting surprise for us! It took some time for it to set in and really start to feel real, but now I am SO excited to say that we are expecting a little girl in April 2020. April must really be our favorite month, so far we have gotten engaged in April, married in April and now we will have a little bebe in April!

I don’t have a TON to say on having a baby or being pregnant yet. I’ve been one of the lucky ones who really has no pregnancy symptoms. I’ve never gotten sick, I haven’t had any food cravings or aversions and I’ve been able to continue working out and going about my normal life (just without wine or sushi). I imagine down the road I will have some stuff to say about pregnancy and navigating being a mom!
